2021 MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND CEREMONIES
Created: 6/3/2021
Saturday May 29th 2021, Joel May, Emmette O'Hare, and Ken Killmeyer honored the Two Hundred Seventy-Seven Brave American Sailors that Died While Serving aboard USS FORRESTAL CVA-59. Despite the rainy weather, we honored these Outstanding Sailors with prayers and flowers at Arlington National Cemetery and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall on behalf of the USS FORRESTAL Association Members.
At the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall, we were pleased to meet the cousins and family members of one of our departed shipmates, Richard D. Clendenen, AMSAN of Fighter Squadron VF-11, from the Fire and Explosions of July 29, 1967, while USS FORRESTAL CVA-59 was operating on Yankee Station off the coast of North Vietnam
