will be again be hosting their
USS FORRESTAL Fire Memorial Service
at 1030
all invited.
Guest Speaker will be FID Shipmate
Rear Admiral Ted Branch, U.S. Navy
Commander, Naval Air Force, U.S. Atlantic Fleet
Forty-five years ago, while operating on Yankee Station off
the coast of Vietnam, 134 Sailors lost their lives during a
catastrophic flight deck fire on board USS Forrestal (CVA-59).
In honor of those fallen Shipmates and of the surviving crew
members, the USS Forrestal Association will be holding a
Memorial Service at the Naval Engineering Training Site Norfolk
Farrier Fire Fighting School, located in the Norfolk International
Terminal on Hampton Boulevard.
All hands are invited to join the Survivors of the
USS Forrestal tragedy to pay tribute to our Fallen Shipmates.
Working uniform or equivalent civilian attire is appropriate.

Will conduct the Memorial Service
ALL ATTENDEES -Two valid ID Cards required to access
the Norfolk International Terminal . The Fire School will
compile a list of those attending. Please submit adult and children's
names to LT David Beaver, U. S. Navy by 4:00 PM 13 July, 2012
