Patricia J. “Patti” Cooper

Patricia J. "Patti" Cooper, 71 of Jacksonville, Florida, formally of Mashpee, MA was called home by our lord and savior on Saturday, May 5, 2018.

“Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this? John 11:25-26”

Patti, after a long illness, surrounded by family, passed away peacefully at the Haven Hospice facility in Orange Park, Fl.

Patti was born in Atlantic City, NJ on June 02, 1946, to the late Sylvester and Patricia O’Donnell, and adopted father Charles True. Patti graduated from Hingham, MA High School, class of 1964. She was a graduate of Cape Cod Community College CNA program. She was the loving wife of Maurice Cooper, Jr. with whom she was married for 45 years. They raised four sons in Mashpee, MA.

Patti loved her family and was very proud of her sons, grandchildren and great grandchild. She enjoyed many different activities with family and friends. She particularly enjoyed watching Red Sox Baseball, Patriots Football, and attending USS Forrestal reunions.

Patti worked as an operator for the New England Telephone Company, and for many years at the Hearth & Kettle Falmouth and Cape Heritage Sandwich. Patti had been a volunteer at Community Hospice in Jacksonville.

Patti was elected to two terms as a member of the Town of Mashpee Finance Committee. Patti was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Sandwich, American Legion Auxiliary Post 188 Sandwich, The Order of the Sons of Italy, and Italian American Club both in Jacksonville.

In addition to her husband Maurice, Patti is survived by sons: Theodore (Stacy), Paul, Andrew, and Daniel (Crystal); Jaime Cooper, and AnnMarie Cooper; her uncle, Constantino Dellanno, many cousins, and Mother-in-law Mary Cooper, her grandchildren; Lauren, Emily, Molly, Samuel, Olivia, Riley, Mia, and Addie; and great-grandchild Zoe.

Patti’s Family would like to thank the staffs at St. Vincent’s Riverside Mayo Cancer Clinic, St. Vincent’s Clay County, and The Haven Hospice for the professional and compassionate care provided to Patti.

A visitation will be held at the Chapman Cole and Gleason Funeral Home 74 Algonquin Ave. (Rte 151) Mashpee on Monday May 14, 2018 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Christ the King Parish 3 Job’s Fishing Rd. Mashpee on Tuesday May 15, 2018 at 11:00am. Interment will follow at the National Cemetery in Bourne at 12:30pm

A memorial Mass and collation will be held in Jacksonville at a later date.

In lieu of flowers it is requested a donation be made in memory of Patti to the charity of one’s choice.
